WakeUp Breathing Powerfully
This is a short practice of Kapala Bhati that can be done first thing in the morning.
SITTING POSITION:
To do this practice, you may sit at the edge of your bed, on a chair or sitting cross-legged on the floor (with back support should you require it).
CLEANSING PROCESS:
We will begin the track with cleansing of the nostrils, by gently pumping the air out while closing the right, left, alternating the closing the right and left nostrils and finally with both nostrils open.
To do this, here is the hand position you will be needing during the cleansing process:
- The thumb will open and close the right nostril flap.
- The ring finger will open and close the left nostril flap.
- Keep your index and middle finger folded in OR resting on your forehead.
BREATHING TECHNIQUE:
Throughout this practice the breathing will be done through a pumping action of the abdomen.
- Quickly squeeze the ABDOMEN IN, and expel the AIR OUT through the NOSTRIL.
- Do this in a gentle pumping action as if you are pumping the air out from your abdomen and lungs.
- You do not need to actively inhale for this pranayama. The gentle inhalations will happen naturally on its own.
- Please conclude and regain normal breathing at any point if you feel uncomfortable.
Those who have certain medical conditions such as migraine, epilepsy, hernia, gastric ulcer, high blood pressure, giddiness, vertigo or giddiness should be very cautious in taking on this practice.
Disclaimer: These recordings are designed to be practiced either as stand alone, or as part of an ongoing Yoga Jedi program or class. Although these practices are generally safe for everyone, there are some precautions to be taken for medical conditions which may require special considerations, those who have been through major surgery or undergoing certain delicate treatments. Would love to hear how it went. Enjoy!

Let's just say I've got to start slow. Even though I exercise regularly, I'm not very flexible!
