Hello everyone! I’m Carol and this is my eighth post on @dsound! I hope you are enjoying my posts about Portugal! My intention with this tag is to show you the importance of Portugal in the World!

Today I will show you another interesting fact about Portugal!

Portugal had a huge influence on World Cuisine!

  • Portuguese invented the famous and delicious Portuguese custard tart: Pastel de Nata. Pastéis de Nata were created before the 18th century by Catholic monks at the Jerónimos Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jerónimos) in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém, in Lisbon.

  • Portuguese invented Piri Piri Sauce and introduced this sauce to African countries. It is made from crushed chillies, citrus peel, onion, pepper, garlic, salt, lemon juice,bay leaves and other ingredientes.

  • Tempura was introduced in Japan by Portuguese people. It’s a classical Portuguese popularized by Japan. This dish consist in seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep fried.The idea that the word "tempura" may have been derived from the Portuguese noun "tempero", meaning a condiment or seasoning.
