Hummingbird (Original)

This song has been tickling me from the edges lately.

I wrote it in 2014 – born of a feeling that I now know is recurring, and – really – sadly becoming somewhat of a daily 'normal'. I suspect I'm not the only one who increasingly feels at odds with the shifting tides – feeling small and vulnerable in the face of a raging wind (global unrest).

I liken the feeling to a bird with delicate wings, caught in a twister – a hummingbird, attempting to survive a hurricane.

However unsettling – though the churn and tumble may feel haphazard and terrifying — I have to believe we’re headed for something better.

Here then, is a 'lullaby for waking':
