Traditional Japanese Jujutsu: Gyaku Te Nage, 逆手投 Takagiyoshin Ryu Jutaijtus

in #dtube7 years ago

This technique is from the Middle level scroll of the Takagiyoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu. It's often referred to as Saka Te Nage, which is also a 'reverse hand. Tori will pivot their body to the left so that their body is perpendicular to the uke’s. While doing this, using their left hand, tori will release uke grip with take-ori, peeling the hand over ura gyaku and releasing to take-ori. Tori will then immediately move to the uke’s right side, moving with the uke. Uke will lower their weight to attempt to release the lock and tori will counter by dropping their weight at the same time. While dropping, tori will turn the uke’s fingers inward and then grip the waki with their right hand as though tearing the muscle. Lift the opponent’s balance straight upward using both take-ori and goshi-ken, then step behind their hip to throw ura-koshi nage.
