My First Week On Steemit and Dtube

in #dtube7 years ago

Today marks the end of the first week since I discovered Steemit and Dtube. I had been contemplating about starting a Youtube channel to make a little extra income to help pay for school, but when I learned how little you actually make as a Youtuber, I began looking into other options.

Can you believe the relief I felt when I discovered Dtube?

Uncensored content and a platform that actually cares about both the creators and the audience?? Sign me up!

I have already posted my first video, of which I did a drama reading of one of my favorite Creepy Pastas.

I am looking forward to doing more drama readings and maybe some vlogging. And I also want to make some anatomy instruction videos once I get better at editing and get a better camera.

But, just for a moment, can I get back to why I started producing content...

I love to write and perform in plays. I am a performer. I wanted a platform where I could upload my writings and ramblings and not get censored. Because frankly, the internet is the one place that should be safe from the outside world.

The internet is my escape.

Another reason is that I really, really need money for school.

I am going to be extremely honest right here, right now. I turned 20 on April 28, 2018. Yep, I'm a baby. Because of that no one will give me a loan. Which is just dumb. Basically, to get a loan you have to prove that you don't need a loan. I am a broke college kid that can barely keep my kitchen cabinets somewhat not empty.

And there you have it, the cold hard truth.

So...I am going to keep producing content and I am going to make it good content. So that 1: I can become a respected member of the creative community 2: Make money to pay for school and 3: Help save up for my sister when she gets to university.

Thank you for reading my incoherent rambling!
