My internet is too slow to watch the video... i miss youtube... but upvoted and wanted to say something.
Because I didn't watch the video I may look like I'm doubling up what's already been pointed out.
I met with the head of the Chilliwack branch of the Canadian Legion a few weeks ago, as my late father was in the Military for 21 yrs and they were helping my Mom with house work.
He mentioned to me two things the legion is trying to do.
The first is that they want people to know that the Poppys just aren't about remembering the fallen. 100% of the proceeds goes into the poppy fund, so 100% of it gets distributed to Ex-military when they've fallen into hard times.
On a personal note, my mother's house had no water so the poppy fund paid for a plumber to come in and get it running again. So when I see people wearing poppies this year I have a great deal of appreaciation for them.
The second thing the Legion is trying to do is ask people to write their Ministers, retired RCMP officers don't benefit from the Vetrans affairs VIP program. This allows elder officers who can't take care of themselves or their homes have somebody come to help them. Basically the Legion is hoping people write their MP to ask that RCMP can be helped.
Sorry for posting a long comment.
