She was also the first Indian woman to graduate from Harvard Business School, the first woman to head a foreign or private bank in India and the first woman to head FICCI in 86 years. She received the Padma Shri for her significant contribution to Trade and Industry. She has authored several books- 30 Women In Power, Contemporary Banking in India and most recently, SOS: Survive or Sink An Action Agenda for Sanitation, water, Pollution and Green Finance.
