RE: The Steem Sister Show - Episode 122 // Personal Branding
I think personal branding has become such a bastardised term and everyone wtih 2000 followers on a platform thinks they're a brand now. The attention economy has us focused on the wrong part of branding which is the monetising it and being as appealing as possible
I think personal branding should fall within more of a thought leader focus where you simply pick something you like an enjoy and explore that honestly and have an audience find you and resonate with the way you really are, not what you want to manufacture as who you are.
YouTube used to be like that in the early days but it's hard to find those accounts now, they've all been drowned out by clickbaiters and template style accounts and reaction video peeps.
Personal branding to me, is finding someone who is their authentic self which is hard because how many people want to be honest online? they would rather use it as a way to reinvent themselves
