Anyone that has Steempower can 'delegate' this steempower to another user.
The STEEM is then still yours but the voting power is given to someone else. (you can take it back at any time)
Almost every day I get contacted if I'm interested in delegating my Steempower for a fee.
Personally, I don't do this at the moment but it could sure be interesting for investors. (people that believe in the growth of the platform but have no interest/time for blogging).
My brother recently invested in the Blockchain and has delegated his 600 STEEM to Minnowbooster. His return on investment is 0.45 SBD per day at the moment.
This renting or delegating of Steempower is something I can only see growing when the price of STEEM increases because it will simply be more and more expensive to buy a stake. Also in the future when SMT's come out Steempower will be needed to use bandwidth on the network increasing demand.
I do think the current demand for Steempower is driven by the high SBD price. But recently I learned that SBD does not have an upper limit so who knows where that will go. (I don't have a crystal ball, I can't answer it).
At the moment I am selling my SBD for Euro. I'm building a small buffer outside of crypto to mitigate risk.

@exyle If I rent out my steempower through minnowbooster will it affect my earnings as, like you, I post videos everyday on steemit.
You will lose your voting power. You can still vote but you can't upvote your own post with much or the posts of others. As an active Steemian as you are, I would recommend to keep it yourself.

SBD can be pumped very easily to the moon on outside exchanges, but that could lead to us all being rewarded all in SBD. Currently the reward ratio is 75/25 - SBD/steem

I bought Steem delegation from Blocktrades some days ago. It is really helping me out for some days. In the meantime I am powering up so that I can balance it. So I dont end up with nothing later.

I completely agree with you, my friend, that the possession of the Steempower is of great importance in our ecosystem and it can be leased. You are right that when the SMT is released, the influence of the Steempower will increase and if there is an opportunity, it is necessary to take measures to acquire the Steempower now. I've been thinking about this. But how can I vote for a witness when they all are just names to me? I know nothing about them.

Good question. I have been here since July 2016 so I know most names and what they do but for newcomers, I can imagine it's overwhelming. What you could do is set a proxy (a user that votes for witnesses in your name) or postpone voting until you are more familiar with the names. As part of Blockbrothers, I try to be active on the blockchain so you at least read and see what we do.

yes i also watch ur last vlog on witness today and now this steem power i think this is best idea to delegate steem power others even with a rent or a deal which make to others some best earning and value @exyle ...and also i m amaized to hear that ur brother invest in blockchain bcz i read i ur some days old post ur brother and father dont believe it
@exyle has the ability to convince people, and he has convinced his brother. It took some time, but finally, he succeeded. The reason is that he knows so much about crypto and Steemit, he talks with knowledge!

True, @exyle is crypto genius and an expert adviser, who knows when to enter the market. He has taken bold decision to invest in Steem, when the Steem price was at its lowest.
