- Adding a product to Amazon Seller Central.
Important Things I Left Out (ITILO):
- Amazon will, thankfully, detect the code you are uploading and should set the selection correctly if you do it wrong.
- Always list your product early, this allows you to catch HAZMAT reviews or any other problems early so that your later shipment can move into the warehouse smoothly.
- Still working on Ep4 (Product Research) and will release it soon.
GS1 Costs and Pricing:
GS1 UK starts at 119 GBP (excl VAT) per annum for up to 1000 numbers:

GS1 US starts at $250 for up to 10 codes with a $50 annual renewal fee:

Amazon is starting to check UPC codes more and more, many sellers have used random UPCs for many years and there will hopefully be strategy for simply updating these codes when the time comes. To avoid this all entirely, register your company on GS1, input all the relevant details, pay an annual fee and gain access to GS1 UPC codes that your company owns.
If you’re running a private label business for the long-term, it’s well worth paying the annual fee in order to have consistent access to GS1 barcodes for Amazon.
