Steemit Open Mic Week 63: Lonely Parade (Sarah Blackwood Cover)

in #dtube7 years ago (edited)

For #openmic 63, I was finally able to upload my first video to dtube! I made a last minute decision to grab my guitar and make a quick video. We went to the river to take some family portraits for my sister and her family. I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone and make a video while we were waiting on them since they were running a bit behind 😉

The weather was pretty comfortable, considering that it’s December and it’s usually unbearably cold. It was a #beautifulsunday to be next to the river! @jasonrussell recorded this for me in one take and my family was walking down the hill for their pictures just as I was finishing it up.

As always, thanks to @luzcypher, @pfunk, and all of the #openmic judges for their contributions to this community!!!

Thanks for listening 🙂

EDIT: According to @luzcypher, apparently dtube doesn't work well for openmic. So if you were unable to view the video, I added a youtube link if you want to check it out. Thanks again, Steemit!!!

I love the idea of DTube but it doesn't work for Open Mic. Waiting 15 minutes to hear you say Steemit Open Mic. The video stops an can't hear the performance. Please add a YouTube link so we can hear your song. Thanks.

Here's me hanging with @heimindanger, the creator of DTube.

Well, damnit I was excited at the idea of finally getting a video to successfully upload to DTube! The link seemed to work fine from my phone and our computer but I’m still testing the dtube waters and wasn’t quite sure how it worked. I also noticed that even though I made openmic my first tag, it automatically changed it to dtube. Very cool that you guys have met and got a picture together. I’m off to upload to YouTube now....

ah nice picture! :D

You have poise! And a voice, and rhythm, and swagger, all of it... I enjoyed the song, (youtube version) and was blown away at the first transition from verse to chorus, where an automobile goes by PERFECTLY TIMED to sound like a swelling cymbal... Gotta cherish the synchronicity!!!!

I never would have noticed that before you pointed it out! What a happy coincidence :) Thanks for listening! ☺️

Well, you were kinda busy singing and playing... As a listener, I find it fun to take the entire experience in... Great setting! Thanks for caring about music...

Music was my first true love so I will always try to keep it in my life! :) Thank you so much for the thoughtful words!!!

Music is also a fun companion that grows with us as we march to our fate... Hurray!

Playing guitar in the nature is a #beautifulsunday.
Yes, I heard dtube don't work well. Hopefully, time to come view.ly will work.

Yeah I was just excited about using an alternative to YouTube but it sounds like some kinks still need to be worked out.

And on the bright side, it was certainly a beautiful Sunday to combine nature and music! Two of my very favorite things! :)

A good combination

view.ly looks interesting!! i really hope we can get something working soon that will work correctly!

me too. i "invested" :-)

Nice one, Melody! Love the backdrop and spontaneity of it all... Glad to see you back, and you most certainly have not lost your touch! :-)

Thanks man! You always have such kind and encouraging words and I’m so happy to have you on board with the other judges!

Hola! Me gustó mucho, saludos desde Venezuela.
