best comment here hands down

disney is not hippies though bro, they are corporate fascist occultists.

yes, the movie tears down everything in the entire franchise that was heartful or in any way well thought out.

I turned it off at 'see with your feelings.'

princess leia using her mind powers to float through space was the most absurd scene of in any movie I have ever seen in my life. i thought someone was playing a prank on me and that wasn't in the real movie, like it was a prank cam version. THAT would have been funny.

Here is the problem, the last jedi Luke, who had been built up by 3 very famous movies to be the coolest shit that ever stank, and now one of the largest media conglomerates in the world had to AGREE ON what the actual coolest Jedi shit in the world actually was.

And in true corporate form, they punted or pulled a play-action fake and downgraded the entire franchise to a children's movie like idk mulan YES MULAN and turned Luke Skywalker into the most stereotypical bitter middle-aged man in the history of film.

He shouldn't have attacked the dreadnaught! They destroyed it though! But it cost them the bombers! But now there are still 20 star destroyers chasing us! But we can run faster! But we are running out of fuel! But darth whatever can attack us! But he's wearing a mask! But the big boss says masks are stupid now! Now he's not wearing a mask, and he is more angry! Now he wants to kill leah! Now he doesn't! Now someone else is shooting her! Now she's blown up and in space! Now she's not! The black guy is leaving! Now he's not!

Why is the rebellion even doing this in the first place? How did things get so bad if the death star was destroyed? Doesn't this entire movie mean that the destruction of the death star was futile? That the entire rebellion has gone pretty shittily since the end of Return of the Jedi?

Why in the world would Luke have given up after the end of that movie and gone to the middle of nowhere things were going great for him? EVERY OTHER NOVEL OR GRAPHIC NOVEL of the star wars universe has luke doing immensely cool shit, discovering the secrets of the sith, training a new academy, being part of a new government as the rebellion reclaims worlds, etc etc etc.

The new movies are vomit, the worse art that the united states has ever, ever produced.
