We hiked in the wonderful Slovenian Karawanks | Trupejevo poldne

in #dtube2 years ago

Trupejevo poldne is the 1931-meter high peak, which pleasantly surprised us with wonderful views of the Slovenian, Austrian, and Italian Julian Alps, lies on the border between Slovenia and Austria and belongs to the Karawanks group. We parked the car in the village of Srednji vrh above Gozd Martuljek, from where we followed a forested and snowy path to the top. In the beginning, the path is more ‘closed’ like the valley surrounded by forest, and gradually climbs. The slope was just right for us. At the top the path opens up, tall trees disappear and low pine bushes appear. The ‘closed’ path turns into a steep climb up an open slope. We had excellent weather conditions on the day of the hike. Sun without clouds and without wind. You can't imagine better weather than we had. On top of the mountain stands a large modern-looking wooden cross, a registration book, and a small bell. How cute ;) On the Austrian side, the cities of Villach and Klagenfurt are clearly visible. We were more than impressed by the breathtaking view of Slovenia's highest mountains: Triglav, Škrlatica, Razor, Špik, Mangart, Jalovec…

Trupejevo poldne is a beautiful peak with wonderful views. It is one of the most beautiful winter tours, known especially among touring skiers.
