STARTING MY JOURNEY I NEVER VIEW THE STEEM BLOCKCHAIN AS INCOME. IN FACT THE MONEY ASPECT WAS SO CONFUSING, THAT IT WASN'T UNTIL MY SECOND YEAR ON THE BLOCKCHAIN, THAT I DECIDED TO TACKLE THE UNDERSTANDING. SO HERE'S A VLOG ABOUT MY THOUGHTS ON SELF VOTING AND I ASK, WHY IS IT EVEN THERE?

Let's start off by saying when I joined Steem was uber different. And when I joined most tutorials online said upvoting yourself was important. Especially in the beginning. So after a few videos about the subject was circling. I said to myself, why the bad stigma against self voting? So I asked a friend I knew I could ask a MILLION questions to and she would make sure I understand and not judge my articulation issues. I can just talk. But once they put a few things into perspective for me I decided to take a month long journey and discontinue upvoting myself. So what did I learn and what are my opinions about it, and yes, I'll so you the video!

I kind of view it as though people are treating steem like a small business. Every small business should pay the owners wages first first, then the employees, finally the business, then contribute to the local community. I feel the same is being applied here. Also with inflation, without those self upvotes, you would possibly be crushed, without a following. Guess it depends on if you invested into steem from a Fiat world or not, personally I have around $400 (I think?) into steem, and I do self upvote. * Shrugs * depends on your motive and intent for the platform, I have projects (@blokz & @steemdrops) that could benefit from the added value of my self upvotes, so until I hit my goals to launch, I'll be picking up pennies daily. LoL. Going to watch the video now. I'll reply momentarily with my thoughts, until then, dab on friend! #420life

Understood completely. Trust be I notice a difference but it's when I thought about where those funds for me should go. Unlike you I never invested fiat. I have just earned everything here so I could see if it were fiat, Then that may have me a different view on it aswell! right on. Thanks for your input!
I need to pull the trigger and start doing videos, that seems to be where the real action is.

My interests are soo diverse, I love learning a little bit about everything. Doin dabs and hitting the volcano. Playing games (cuphead, magic the gathering, Ragnarok and many other mobile games), working on website projects (mainly front end), staying current with all the news (I try to view as many sources as possible, keep an open view on both sides and their opinions), more dabs, more bags, browsing steem and nerd sites like distrowatch.com (they are basically a Linux news Network), Pokemon is a thing, Buddhism is fun to research.. damn, I could go on for days.....
I always self vote my videos, 100%. However I vote for many many other people, 100%. I see it as a non issue. Investors should self vote for a ROI. It isn't funneling money out of the system it is creating more transactions and mining more STEEM. Why shouldn't you raise awareness to your own posts with your voting power, no matter your voting power. The upvote button is how curators make their curation rewards...no upvote button, no rewards for anyone who votes. Self voting does not mean ones does not have integrity. Self voting is 100% necessary for investors. Why should anyone with a lot of money even put money into STEEM if they do not get anything for it? I'll check out @heyhaveyamet.
I guess I meant integrity like, "when is too much, too much"? didn't mean to get you perturbed... I have trouble articulating things. Why are these situations so hard? I feel like I should go back to the dark side..... lolol. Thanks Zainenn... Oh and I didn't really mean integrity, I should have said a different word. My mistake. There's always two sides to everything and I always seem to be stuck in the middle... Understanding both sides... Thanks for reminding me why we need the button!
There is this one profile that is an investment company, they create a post and leave a bunch of comments under them. Then they upvote all comments. It is ok of people sell their steem for FIAT money, we want that to happen, it shows our blockchain has a high use case. All good, I know you didnt think people who self upvote dont have integrity, just thought I'd point it out, haha. Don't want people to get the wrong idea about investor class people on the blockchain here. I still feel like there is so much for me to learn here, it is a never ending quest.

ME TOO.... me too. Yea I was torn the other day whether or not to pull steem out into Binance and try to learn how to trade... I felt somewhat guilty taking it out but I need to learn this stuff. Ans that's EXACTLY what I was thinking when I switched it over. If we can't show that steem it adoptable for world wide every day use, .. WE NEED THAT FOR SURE. Then we be rich! lololol.
