Topic of this Episode – Social Media (Part 2)

In case you missed our Part 1 on Social Media we chatted all about social media in terms of business vs. pleasure and our approach to creating content.

This episode we are getting into some of the juicy stuff! Answering your questions on creating a social media following and sharing our thoughts on decentralized vs. centralized social media applications.

Here are the questions we answered in this episode:

  • @coolguy222 – 1. How can someone get more followers? 2. What components make a blog of social media account successful? 3. What advice would you give to a newbie blogger/vlogger?
  • What is your favorite social media app and why?
  • What are the pros and cons of traditional social media vs. decentralized alternatives like Steem?

  • (Impromptu question) What's your biggest social media fail?

What is the Steem Sister Show All About?

We aim to bring more “non-crypto” related content to the Steem Blockchain. Although there is nothing wrong with this kind of content (@coruscate even posts on crypto related material sometimes) – we want to help create a better onboarding experience for new users. We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform – but if the trending page is filled with crypto posts and flagging wars, they are likely to lose interest quickly.

We hope that by creating content that is more similar to what they are used to seeing on other social media sites – they will feel more excited about being here and creating content of their own!

How Does It Work?

We pick a different theme every week, and then throw totally random questions about that topic in a hat and go back and forth. We always have a mix of our own questions and some audience questions. Our rule is that we cannot tell each other our answers before filming! So you guys are getting our raw, unfiltered reactions here.

Every episode we announce the next week’s topic so people can submit questions.

Want to win some Steem??

If we chose to answer your question in the next show… we will send you 2 Steem!

The Next Topic: Becoming an Expert

How many of you would consider yourself an expert on any particular topic? What does being an expert even really mean and how does someone become one? How much does "fake it till ya make it" play into things?

We are excited to chat about this next week and explore some of those questions!

So please send us your questions! If we choose your question to answer in an episode - we will send you 2 steem!

That’s a Wrap!

We really hope you guys enjoyed this week's topic of Social Media! As we mentioned in the show - we'd love to hear if you guys have any social media horror stories or even funny stories to share!

wow today i came to know about this show, hi ,respected @steemsistershow

my questions are:
1)It is true? After becoming an expert, can we get success in the related field? or also luck (fate) plays a role.
2).How much mistake play important role to become a true expert in any field? what is "practice make perfect". can we replace perfect with expert "if affirmative, then what is" risk "to become expert.
3)how can i become bloger expert in short time?
how can i become bloger expert in short time? if i do not know abc of bloging.
4)What is your greatest success is any field of life after becoming an expert.
5)Can people without education become experts if they want to participate in blogs? or if someone does not have information about English, without the English language they will become an expert in blogging. yes or not if yes or not then how and why no./

Hugely thought out! Engaging. It keeps your mind occupied while you wait.

I really enjoy watching this episode of social media. keep it up steemsisters. Let me just ask this simple question

  • what are those things someone need to sacrifice before turning expect on a choosing career?

I'm waiting for the third part! Nice

I really love your smile @coruscate!

You nailed it for me, I love a good story, whether it's travel, how to's, why it failed, hell practically anything that people do. I guess unlike a lot of people here, I'm not really a content creator, what I do create is really for me and it is fun creating things. I search out and engage with channels I like, leaving a comment is a way to say thank you ..

Honestly I'm losing faith in Steem. It had a good idea at first but Steem Power has caused a rise in bots, the content we see that trends is junk because of bid bots. It's becoming a tool to make 2-15% profit in 7 days from bot promotions. I think it's a matter of time before the masses realize this and lose confidence in this platform. It's probably a better strategy now to post on youtube and use Steem to advertise towards the mainstream platforms to gain more followers. Not trying to be a hater of Steem, but I just don't see good content and the reward structure should pay out continuously. Maybe I'm being to pessimistic... but I think the glory days of Steem are behind us

Hello @steemsistershow ! thanks for answering my questions. It is really cool to listen.
Here are my question on becoming an expert
1)How long does it take to become an expert at something?
2)How can someone become an expert in blogging?
