What is going on with the DTUBE TOKEN???

in #dtube5 years ago

I was really hoping to start my DTube journey in 2020 strong, with positive videos celebrating the top DTubers of the year (video coming soon) and celebrating the fact the DTube kept their promises and launched their Token and wouldn't make the SAME MISTAKE Steemit Inc made with their 'launch' of the SMTs... Well I guess not. I was very happy that I invested in the first round of the DTube token sale, now I'm not so sure anymore. Not only did I invest real money into this, I also invested a ton of time into producing content and trying to bring people from YouTube to Dtube. I'm still hoping to get some official statement from DTube regarding this since there has been nothing on the matter so far and it's very disappointing...

that will happen when they burn all funds from the token sale without having released the final platform. DTC token sale will only benefit Steem-based CTube users. I would like to see them cancelling the token sale and returning all funds which have not been already spent. Not because of it being a failed event, but because they failed -not their fault- and they recognized it and showed their good faith.

I know scheduling the release of an app is very troublesome.

I am commenting via Steem because the commenting feature of the Avalon version is still not working.

I was hoping for any kind of announcement/update from their side and yes I totally agree scheduling the release of an app is very difficult but as soon as the official release date got near and it became obvious that the deadline could not be met I would have liked to have seen some kind of update, even if it would have been just a tweet

It seems like a lot of steem block chain video hosting solutions are struggling despite youtube issues. Steemit has vision issues when it comes to end users using their front end and system, that has allowed a host of other front ends. Dtube was one of the first video places, and in the beginning did have the end user in mind when it came to their developing their system, I hope for your sake, and the sake of other dtubers that they are able to regain a bit of their early end user concern and not so much concern of making money hand over fist. Making money is fine, but when they abandon their user base with empty promises just to make another buck...well that is not good. Hopefully it is just because of the holidays, but it seems like most of the Christmas Surprises was there were no surprises.

I mean maybe someone is ill or something unexpected happened that was so bad that no update could be made, but for now I'm still just guessing here. But I think we should get an update on this very soon.

As you probably can imagine is the development of DTC and the whole new blockchain Avalon a big thing and needs much of work and adjustments. I honestly am a bit disappointed about your research & résumé on that without asking anyone of the node leaders or reading more carefully in the discord channels.

Most of the time @techcoderx (who is a node leader as I am or any other you can find under "leaders" in the top 10) mentioned that the launch will probably need some more time because of instabilities in the past and that the Avalon chain could need some adjustments. He wrote it several times in discord and I am wondering why you did not have seen it.

Additionally DTube had to fix some more important issues than to rollout a product with major bugs in it. I know that they fixed some of them recently and that they had some time with their family in holidays - like we all did..

Anyways: Of course the transparency of the team could be better sure but I can calm you down - there are people on the background working on it and paying actual money to run this system. I also invested in DTC and I can't wait for it but I am also a node leader and I am proud to be one of them :)
Q42019 is 1 day over and you are already comparing the DTC to SMT ?! Come oooon.

Next time: just read more carefully or just ask someone. That would turn your frustration into hope and trust ;)

Peace!

Are you kidding, why should anyone need to dig deep, ask questions, do research as to why things did not happen. The DTC token had a massive sales pitch, with a countdown on public display.

I have no idea what a node leader is or what they do, I don't really care.

BUT if someone announces a product, then sells it, and I pay for it, I damn well want it. Barter 101. Otherwise I see it for what it is, Fraud. Now you may think this is a harsh statement, but this is what a normal "HUMAN" reaction looks like. Try selling a brand new car, making someone pay for it, then tell them, they cannot have it yet because we didn't realize it needed wheels!

... a normal "HUMAN" reaction!

LMAO. Very Good Point Kiwi. Agree

lol.. something like what happened with Tesla? Just kidding , well not really..Cheers!

Yeah funny comparison tbh even if it is absolutely not suitable.. lol

For someone who is not into DTube (what I think you are) I can understand your human reaction for sure.

But for someone who is here/there for years and experienced the development of the platform I can not understand such a reaction. He mentioned in the video that he checked discord - what he obviously not did. That is why I recommended to ask or read more.

Sorry to say that but I dont care about any other investor because I believe in the platform and the team behind it and I feel optimistic about my investment.

As soon as investments are made and users who chose to invest time as well as money become investors, people want to see results - especially when there is a countdown displayed online. I know what a node leader is and what they do, but I totally agree with Kiwibloke, there should be absolutely no need to dig deep, chase people, ask questions etc. I would say this is very unlike previous behaviour from DTube and I wouldn't call them fraud, but if you imagine someone investing in DTube as a newbie and then seeing the deadline go by and no communication, no official launch of the dtc, I think they would be very confused and they would be unlikely to stay optimistic.

I've been seeing many youtubers migrate to dlive but mainly because of the streaming capability

and because of pewdiepie I guess lol

Users can publish their streams from many other platforms on DTube. I saw that a lot of times with youtube streams - did not tried it myself yet and other paltforms should be tested out.

There's one called lbry.io that seems pretty good, but I think dlive is mainly because of pewds
