The grand parade of desire! — my daily stoic completely nailed the moment today!
Good morning.
It’s THIRSTday over here, the day of the week that when I was in my teenager years was the start of my 20’s something ‘weekend’ — yep, thursday was the start regardless that I had work in the morning, we went for a few drinks to break in the weekend before getting fired up for friday night and joining the great convoy in the early hours when the bars would close — we would go to a truck stop and all hang out there until someone know where we were heading too (illegal parties in caves mainly)
My whole weekend would be taken up my resourcing, fuel, generator money, transportation, push cars out of mud, making sure all my squad was ok and were not crawling on the floor looking for mobile phones and keys and that everyone was having a good time — sunday I’d chill down and monday I’d be back into work like nothing had happened.
I’d get the question of course. ..
“Did you have a nice weekend?”
The pause in my brain seemed to take a life time.
“Oh, you know just a quiet one”
The lives we lead outside of the convention of the pre-made templates of what a life looks like is the reason why when your in your teenager years you experiment so much with finding out what life all about because you won’t to discover if there is more — the transition between teens to 18 and getting all that official paperwork and a ‘card’ from the government changes everything as you realise you got a free pass for the first eighteen years of your life but now you must turn up and services the beast.
“Robbers, Perverts, Killers and tyrants — gather for your inspection their so called pleasures!” — Marcus Aurelius, Meditations 6.34
So today’s highlight in the daily stoic book was a real flashback for me, for the way that desire frames our future in some ways when we over indulge in it unabashed.
For me going into my 30’s seemed like the right time to slow things down and going into my 40’s was a revelation in discovery of character. It’s been interesting to see what framed my decision making through all of those chapters and how I learned to not overindulged in the perception of those ideas but the reality of the outcomes.
What desires are taking up much needed brain cycles in your life that you can remix a little bit to get your where you need to go instead?
Peace x

Banned @teamvideo.
thank you for the details.
i'm unsure why you are banning my @teamvideo account when it has nothing to do with @teamhumble account.
@guiltyparties why is steemcleaner banning my @teamvideo account regardings infractions that happened on my @teamhumble account? -- if the issue with my teamhumble account was the dtube cross posting why is my @teamvideo account now being banned? this is obviously a personal vendette as while i own this account it has no such identify theft issue?
Please go back to the Steemcleaners discord and discuss it. This isn't my case so I don't know the details of your ongoing verification issue.
