Steemit and Dtube vs. YouTube (Dtube Version)

in #dtube7 years ago

Recently, I decided to upload my videos to D.tube and Steemit, before I upload them to YouTube. And even though it’s only been a few days, I want to just compare the YouTube experience with the Dtube experience. I’m going to look at several aspects of the platforms and compare and contrast them. The categories I will be looking at today are Layout, Tags, Community Guidelines, Monetization Model, and Uploader.

I finally got this to upload on Dtube. My advice: don't try to upload your snapshot or tags until the video has completed uploading. I find this helps the uploader along.

By the way, a big thanks to the very talented artist @ankapolo for making the thumbnail/snapshot for this video. Check her out! Her work is top tier.

Hi Tjkirk! I really enjoyed this video as I said previously.

I would love to hear you this coming Sunday on one of the MSP wave radio show held by a good friend of mine here on Steemit. His name is @aggroed. He's Steem witness #7.

The show begins at 8pm EST and run til 11pm+.

If you're interested let us know what is the best way to contact you or you can always contact me or @aggroed on the PAL discord server.

Ooh, that would be awesome! The radio is even more unhinged than steemit lol (as we learned today) ;)

Excellent to see you on this platform @tjkirk. I've been following your career on the youtubes and was very happy to see people like you and Pakman move away from the terrible format that Youtube has enforced upon us all!

I'm rooting for DTUBE to do really well! At one point, I was getting over $130 in ad revenue from my videos on YT but now I barely break $20 a month (I have close to 5k subs as of right now).

These special snowflakes and media giants are killing it for us!

I'm sorry but this thing doesn't work, and I TRIED!

Dude, I'm one of those people who has under 1k subs, but has been a partner for years. I'm about to get fucked. I'm at like 950 atm.

I hope dTube gets bigger than youtube. Now that youtube has imposed a shitty rule to not give the monetization facility to channels with under 1000 subscribers, I'm going to quit what little channel i had.
Moving in on to dTube!

yes we have to accept the change of nature to be in the wave of new things ,youtube is still good but it just got its rival in the world platform.

That will not happen but hey, competition is good

Youtube is definitely no charity.

I recently got to know about Dtube and imo the concept is freakin' awesome! It has a lot more motivation for every individual user, which you can see in the overall mood in the community! Everyone is, at least for now, a lot more helpful and friendly than the people on YT.

Also, great video, you have my sub!

I'm glad that you can share your real opinion on Dtube and be rewarded for that. Nice exposure of pros and cons of each platform, we all know Dtube is in very early stage, we can call it beta. I think better times are about to come in the future !!

Nice video @tjkirk,

I have never made a video on Youtube and have been considering finally making one. Still trying to decide on what platform to choose. Maybe I'll just say screw it and go with both. This video was super helpful. Thanks again!

Welcome to Steem, TJ! It's really good to see someone new here giving specific critical feedback to Steemit and DTube from an experienced perspective, in addition to bringing your other content here.

The graphic is awesome, by the way @ankapolo.

(^_^) Thank you so much @pfunk! its a pleasure and a big honor to collaborate with people that create awesome content and bring value to the platform. I will be posting "the making of" shortly, with some additional graphics to explore the theme further :)

very nice post dear @tjkirk

Steemit and Dtube are best friends, they go hand in hand and compliment each other greatly! Best to use both :)

As we all understand the past few year shave been crazy with Youtube, First when it came out after google
bought it out for 1.6 billion the platform went crazy with all the video of cats then it blew to be such a great
platform for free speech, where everybody could express themselves freely .Google made it even better since one could get paid for the content they provided.

you tube.jpg

Fast forward 2017 the things have gone from bad to crazy with all the sensorship and besides the sensorship Google
has been using people's content to further their business in advertising and with just minimal payment .
For instance @jerryBanfield who has a following of 217k gets paid at least $20 a month for the content he creates.

These may or many not be true but all the same all those who are in these space knows that its been crazy because they
were also affected by the same sensorship.

On the other hand thank God for 2017 and for steemit these has been such an incredible year because of dtube ,
as we all know dtube allows one to upload content without any sonsorship since the platform is decetralised and the beauty of it is that we all get paid by the people themselves.

It wont be long before more people could realize what a great platform steemit has just provided .these is just the beginning . dtube could dethrone to come out as the number one platform of the centurery even as tings continue to be decentralized .
