DTube, Where are the videos stored?
The recently released DTube BETA offers a new, decentralized platform for uploading and sharing video content. It is developed on the STEEM blockchain and operates in a similar way as far as posts, upvotes and comments are concerned.
However videos are not uploaded onto the blockchain. A link to the video is stored on the blockchain and the actual video file is stored using IPFS. IPFS is not a blockchain technology but it is a decentralized one.
Check out this video on DTube to hear how the creator Adrien M describes his project: https://dtube.video/v/pressfortruth/ufluexpf
Are users able to update or delete content once uploaded like YouTube, or is it permanently uneditable/unremoveable once your video is posted like steem posts are?
Yeah its like steemit, you cant delete or edit. At least there is no way to currently, i don't imagine there will be.
