I wanted to celebrate this milestone in a special way. So I decided to recite my favorite mantra 108 times for all of you. Sadly the camera did not film it all. It automatically stopped the video after 6 minutes of chanting. When this happened the first time I noticed and @sature pressed the kamera to start again. This is where the cut in the video is. I kept chanting but the battery of the camera was empty after the second video. I dont know how many repitiotions are in this video I cut for you but I counted the ones I did in total. Of course it had to be 108 times.

Sanskrit (Devanagari + transliteration)

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः । auṃ/oṃ bhūrbhuvaḥ svaḥ ।
तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं । tatsaviturvareṇyaṃ ।
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि । bhargo devasya dhīmahi ।
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥ dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt ॥

English Translation:

Let us meditate on the Om, the original sound of God, from which the three realms, the gross-earthly (bhur), the finer-etheric (bhuvah) and the finest-celestial (svah) have emerged.
Let us worship (varenyam) the supreme, indescribable, divine being (tat), the creative, life-giving power that manifests itself in the sun (savitur).
Let us meditate (dhimahi) on the radiant light (bhargo) of God (devasya) , which destroys all darkness, all ignorance, all vices.
May this (yo) light enlighten (pracodayat) our (naḥ) mind (dhiyo).

German translation:

Lasst uns über das Om meditieren, jener Urlaut Gottes, aus dem die drei Bereiche, das Grobe-Irdische (bhur), das Feinere-Ätherische (bhuvah) und das Feinste-Himmlische (svah) hervorgegangen sind.
Lasst uns das höchste, unbeschreibbare, göttliche Sein (tat) verehren (varenyam), die schöpferische, lebensspendende Kraft, die sich in der Sonne (Savitur) kundtut.
Lasst uns über das strahlende Licht (bhargo) Gottes (devasya) meditieren (dhimahi), welches alles Dunkel, alle Unwissenheit, alle Untugenden vernichtet.
Möge dieses (yo) Licht unseren (naḥ) Geist (dhiyo) erleuchten (pracodayat).

I hope you liked the post and the mantra. These words cause well-being in me and I hope I could send out some good energies to you as well. People have been chanting this mantra for ca. 3000 years. Gayatri is the name of a Hindu goddess that represents the change of the sun positions. That is why it is chanted in the morning, mid day and evening. Also she is often accompanied by a swan(hamsa) who is representing purity and symbolizes the soul. Thank you so much for supporting me with following my blogposts and even listen to me singing.
