Dustsweeper 1 Year - [NEW] Invest in Dustsweeper
Celebrating 1 Year
They say time fly when you are having fun. And sure, @dustsweeper has enjoyed every single moment sweeping up dust on the blockchain. But I cannot believe it has already passed one year. It was in May 2018 when @dustsweeper was born. Dusty started out with a few thousand in SP which has now grown to around 24K. The initial SP was made up of kind donations, then we gradually used the deposits to rent SP from the Minnowbooster market.
The drop in the STEEM price has been the main struggle during this time. An increase in SP has been countered by a lower STEEM price, causing the voting power needed to fight dust to remain constant. So when going from 10K to 20K in SP we were not really able to handle any more dust.
So now when Dusty has turned one year old, it is time to introduce a change to the system. It is time to allow you to invest in Dust.
Invest in Dustsweeper
Starting from today, you can make a profit by delegating to @dustsweeper. There is no signup or registration required, just delegate any amount up to 5000SP(read more about that below) and you are good to go.
The profit comes from the transfers when users are topping up their Dustsweeper accounts. If you have an active delegation, you will receive a share of the amount proportional to the size of your delegation.
By delegating to @dustsweeper you will make a profit on your delegation and you will help @dustsweeper grow, which in turn will make @dustsweeper able to handle more of your dust.
How it works
Here is a quick breakdown:
- Delegate any amount to get started
- 5000 SP is currently the maximum to earn a profit
- Anyone can participate, you do not need to be a Dustsweeper user
- Transfers/top-ups to Dustsweeper will be returned to the users, proportionally to each user's delegation
- Ex. delegate 5000SP, out of @dustsweeper's 25000SP, and you will receive 20% of all future top-ups
- Profits will be paid out daily as long as it is above 0.001
- Profits will be paid in both STEEM and SBD
- Profits below 0.001 will be accumulated
- Stats can be checked in Dustsweeper's Discord
Run $stats steemuser
in the discord server to get this:
Outstanding Earnings - Amount earned since the last payout. Everything above 0.001 will be paid out. Lower amounts will be accumulated until 0.001 is reached.
Total Earnings - Paid out earnings plus the outstanding earnings above.
The output for the outstanding earnings is rounded to 5 decimals, but the value stored in the database has much higher precision. So even the smallest delegation, combined with the tiniest of top-ups, will always gain you something.
Restrictions and Disclaimer
The reason for the 5000 SP maximum delegation is to minimize the risk of someone abusing the system. Without the threshold, a user could delegate a large amount of SP, top-up the account, and the un-delegate again. That way they would be able to claim a large amount of their own top-up.
With the 5000 SP threshold, we at least reduce the profitability for someone attempting this kind of abuse.
We also serve the right to adjust the Dustsweeper balance for any user deliberately trying to take advantage of this.
Old Minnowbooster Users
We are currently renting SP from 12 different users via Minnowbooster's delegation market. If any of these users delegate additional SP to @dustsweeper, the delegation will not be processed automatically, it has to be manually approved. This is just to avoid to have the logic in place to cover the various scenarios with Minnowbooster delegations.
Users delegating for free
We have also 4 users, @gamer00, @simplymike, @sparkesy43 and @xcountytravelers, who have been kind enough to send a delegation to Dusty as a very generous gift. We haven't automatically added them to the system but will confirm with them individually if that is their wish.

Dustsweeper Stats
Here are the latest Dustsweeper statistics, what we have accomplished in 1 year.
- We have 1400 Users registered.
- A total of $1100 saved from turning into dust.
ps. If you wonder about the cool @dustsweeper graphics above, they were all designed by @charisma777. Please check out her post: https://steemit.com/dust/@charisma777/a-gift-for-dustsweeper
Dustsweeper is an initiative supported by Witness @danielsaori. @danielsaori is also one of the co-founders, together with @davemccoy. Their shared vision is to help newcomers grow and prosper in the STEEM universe.
Seeing a 2 cents profit turn into dust doesn't sound like much, but for someone new, it can make all the difference. @dustsweeper is trying to prevent that potential disappointment by helping protect those tiny profits.
Happy anniversary @dustsweeper! Great service @danielsaori!!
I have both "topped off" my account this morning, as well as delegated to increase my support of the service.
Have a great day!
Awesome roleerob! Thank you for your support.
Awesome @danielsaori! You never cease to amaze me with what you can do! I didn't have much, but tried it out but redoing my existing delegation... It was super easy! thanks and I'm super happy that we have now turned 2 :P
Let's see how much this can return. Difficult to get any exact figures as it all depends on the size of the deposits.
Congrats on 1 year this is still one of my favourite bots! I will delegate as soon as I’m on my pc 😋

Thank you! Super cool you are happy with Dusty.
Let me know your experience, and if you run into any issue when delegating or with the Discord interface.
Happy 1 year anniversary @dustsweeper! Best wishes and Keep it up!

🎉🎉🎈🎈
Nice one @dustsweeper. I have been using you right from the start though there's been few updates in recent times. I will more than likely send you a delegation shortly.
Thanks for the support.
Will hopefully have some more news ready for you in a few weeks. :)
Congrats on the 12 month achievement. This post is a timely reminder to increase my delegation which I'd been meaning to do for a while. Bonus that it will now give me a little ROI to boot :)
Thanks Sparkesy43!
First congratz on the 1 year.
Second wouldn't it be profitable if users was able to reinvest their profits? So every "daily" payout would just go into their balance.
P.s I have done any math xD

I guess by paying it out, it enables delegators to choose how they wish to use their returns. If they wish to use it for a balance top up, it doesn't take a lot of RC to transfer it back, but if they wish to use it for something else, they have access to it.
I do, however, wonder whether daily payouts are necessary (they are often fairly small). It could perhaps be done weekly instead.
Thats correct, paying it out gives more flexablity for the investor.
But again, it could be awesome to have it as an investment option. Or base it on a token.
And ye true, its quite small x)

Fair point. Options are always good, but it guess it would come down to how much would be involved in coding/administration of the options. The simplicity of dustsweeper in general is something probably helps it
True. I am just dashing out ideas, I dont have much coding experience when it comes to bots :p

Happy anniversary. Is it possible to delegate and get your comments saved from dust, or you need to make the normal payments.
If you delegate, you will receive rewards back as either Steem or SBD - the amount you receive is a weighted percentage of deposits made, dependent on how much you have delegated. You can then use to top up your own dustsweeper balance in the normal way.
Can you tell me where/how to delegate? I can't find a button for it.
Do you use steemworld.org? There is a Delegations section down the left hand side. Click that and you will have the option to delegate to someone.

Thanks for the information.

Congrats on the anniversary :)
I forgot how to activate dustsweeper again, can I send steem or sbd? and did it need a memo?
Just send either Steem or SBD. A memo is only needed if you want to add to someone else's balance instead of your own.
Yes, happy anniversary Dusty!
Did you sort out the transfer? Just follow the instructions from @brickmanbrad. 👍
