DxChain is the most ambitious project that started from an idea and a team and still provides a substantial potential for the future opportunities.

Let’s start with the team!

Allan Zhang, the cofounder who has over 10 years of experience in mobile security, network application protocol detection and network-based vulnerability detection assessment. The founder and CEO at Trustlook AI Cybersecurity that develops AI-based cybersecurity products. Previous roles include senior vulnerability research engineer at Palo Alto Networks and TELUS Security Solution, the senior security engineer at nCircle Network Security, and software engineer at Lucent Technology.

Wei Wang, the cofounder and Chief Scientist who has experience in various fields, including the blockchain research and development, big data, and distributed systems. Previously the principal scientist of blockchain research at AT&T and the principal scientist of big data and parallel computing at Hortonworks. Prior positions include data scientist at Apixio and various research positions at Columbia University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Mellon University.

James Li, the cofounder who has experience in the blockchain systems design and architecture. Besides, he has over 10 years of working experience in the network security. Previously worked as a manager of the mobile department at Trustlook, the principal security engineer at nCircle Network Security, and a senior software developer at Lucent Technologies.

Taosheng Shi, the Blockchain Engineer who has over 10 years of experience in the distributed system research and development. Previously worked at NOKIA as an innovation manager for 5 years conducting R&D in data warehousing and radio cloud platforms, providing expertise in Big Data integration, data warehouse architecture, and so on.

Li Lu, the Blockchain Researcher who has over 10 years of experience in the distributed systems and Big Data. Previously worked as the Director of Engineering at LaiOffer, an

Internet-based education platform. Previously worked at different positions at The Apache Software Foundation, Hortonworks, Google, and Microsoft. Obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Rochester in 2014.

The project is also hiring some employees on their Career page.

The project advisors include Yan Gong, Professor of CEIBS, Kevin Hsu, the founder of BlockVC, Leo Wang, the founding partner of PreAngel, and Fan Zhang, a partner of Vancoin and former Founding Partner of Sequoia Capital China.

The project investors include PreAngel, Fenbushi Digital, BlockVC, Node Capital, Signum Capital, JRR Crypto, Fission Capital, and many others.

I strongly believe that the above-mentioned famous people and their achievements for sure will make this project successful, so let’s take a look at DxChain project in more detail.

DxChain has been developing a decentralized big data and machine learning network.

The team drew its inspiration from Lightning Network where a second layer payment protocol operates on top of the blockchain.

As we all know, today data became more valuable resource than even oil, therefore, this project extremely important for data creators who would like to own and benefit from their own data. The team wants to handle the major Big Data issues such as privacy, ownership, and security while supporting business intelligence and machine learning applications.

With DxChain’s decentralized data exchange platform, users would be able to own and control their own data, and securely trade and analyze data. Using the blockchain technology featuring multi-nodes and distributed storage, the costs of data retrieval and storage would also be reduced significantly.

There are three chains on DxChain platform and each of them is responsible for storing different data.

Master Chain records and stores data about assets and events such as transactions, agreements and so on. The master chain uses a proof of work (PoW) to provide the highest level of security and stability.

Data Side Chain (DSC) stores inactive information or metadata, which is a dataset that provides information about other data and serves as a data extraction method.

Computation Side Chain (CSC) stores certain computing tasks that are performed on DxChain platform as well as records computing processes, which deals with the large volumes of data. In addition, it can determine if the task is run or not.

The main features of DxChain platform

Provable Data Computation (PDC) allows a network to check the precision and accuracy of the calculation results. The side chain uses that to verify the authenticity of the results and to reduce the prevalence of false information.

Proof of Spacetime (PoSt) & Provable Data Possession (PDP) are used as a consensus protocol to store the data. The data chain uses the PoSt and PDP methods to verify transactions and prevent the network from different automated attacks that can cause damage to the network.

There are so many interesting things that could be mentioned in this article, but I strongly believe I have covered the most important advantages about this ambitious project.
