Mental Blocks - Reserving My Best Post For Last
This is an interesting one for me to write about because as I'm composing this, I am overcoming some of my own obstacles in order to help out our Guild members. So let's look at these obstacles, specifically mental blocks. "Blocks" come in many forms. They can be unaddressed issues, bad habits as well as levels of interferences and distractions that can literally plague us, holding us back from achieving our real potential. "Writer's block" is a common one everyone has heard of/experienced.
Being aware and addressing this are the first steps to reclaiming aspects of one's sovereignty one step at a time. From helping many of our @earthnation members, the feedback I get is that some of them reserve from actually posting something, intending that they will share something kick ass down the line when it's ready. If it's ready. This is a big mistake and one mental block that's common.
Steemit is a social media. While it may appear as a text-based blogging platform, that is simply superficial. Planet Steemit is huge and it encourages people to use it often to get the benefit of its cryptocurrency. This is actually a daily requirement. When I talk to members and tell them that a day of not interacting and more importantly, a day of not posting it means losing money they can never get back.
It becomes a wake-up call for them.
Your votes reset every 24 hours and when you use your votes wisely they remain at full strength. So by not using your 1-3 remaining spare votes for organic use, that's money wasted. The reality for new members is that their posts will unlikely be read and they'll gain very little to no engagement. This is simply because they're new and have to build a voice to get noticed. This takes time and consistency. Any of the best posters on Planet Steemit will testify to this. This is the same with any platform or social media. Do not hold back from posting. If you want to reserve your best then fine, do that but start posting something now in the meantime. Not posting, not building momentum will simply lose you money every day through what is a form of procrastination.
This is a mental block. By not posting it only harms yourself and furthermore your brand. It's not news to say that if you're not creating content then no one will visit your website, check out your book, come to your event or buy your product. Use this opportunity for however long Planet Steemit may last. It's always been encouraged to post on your website first, get the SEO ranking then copy it to Steemit. This is a great marketing strategy to monetise your content and promo, supplementing your income/business expenses.
So I advise members to post something. Maybe take pre-existing content and split them up into shorter posts. Also, remember over time you can re-post old content, providing you re-dress it and add something new to it. Maybe you've changed your views or simply want to add additional commentary. You will be surprised at what you will post weeks from now that you'd never think you would. Ideas will come to you easily the more you flow with this.
So do not procrastinate. Post!
Something is better than nothing and you'll develop your #steembuff muscle over time to become a better content creator.

Thank you for the encouragement! Taking action on Steemit is helping me overcome my blocks :).
It does. It makes people into content creators. More thoughtful, more pro-active. There's nothing else like it that encourage its members to take stewardship of what they post.
