MAKE SOLODARITY ....Over 100 dead as powerful 7.1 earthquake destroys buildings in central Mexico

More than 100 people have been killed after central Mexico was struck by a 7.1-magnitude earthquake that destroyed dozens of buildings.The Mexican Interior Ministry announced on Twitter it has imposed a state of emergency to deal with the aftermath of the earthquake.

The central State of Morelos saw the most fatalities, with the death toll reaching 64 as of Tuesday evening, Luis Felipe Puente, head of Mexico’s civil protection agency, told FORO TV.

At least 29 people died in the state of Puebla, where the epicenter of the quake was located, he said. The state’s officials put the number of casualties there at 41.

At least 36 people were killed in the capital, according to Puente, which is six people more than in earlier report by the city’s mayor.

At least nine people were killed in Edomex state, Governor Alfredo Del Mazo said, as quoted by Reuters.

One person fell died as a result of the quake in Guerro state, FORO TV reported.

Thousands of people were seen fleeing their shaking homes.
