Plate tectonic or Movement effects on Climate
Hello every one , Today I am going to discuss about “Plate tectonics and Changes in Climate”
According to plate tectonics theory, Earth's outer shell is divided into multiple plates that slowly glide over the mantle. This slowly changes Earth's surface over time by merging, or separating, continents.
Plate tectonics does not impact the mass of the earth nor does it significantly change its’ volume or alter its’ attitude or movements in any significant way.
Tectonics has no impact on the relationship of the earth to the solar system as a whole, nor the rest of the universe for that matter.
Due to this plate movement different changes are occurring in the climate and the nature. All of this is caused by the Change of speed ot these tectonic plates.
Earth's tectonic plates have doubled their speed. SO MUCH for slowing down as you age. Earth's tectonic plates are moving faster now than at any point in the last 2 billion years, according to the latest study of plate movements
Now the Question is , How the Plate Movement effect the Climate?
. The major impact of plate tectonics is to change the relationships of continental masses to oceanic basins, and in so doing it can dramatically change sea levels. Movement of plate tectonics causes a change in the ocean currents and in turn generates more heat. Shifting of these tectonic plates result in the creation of the volcanic eruptions increases the degree of carbon dioxide (CO2) and Sulphur dioxide (SO2) in the atmosphere that also leads to a rise in the temperature levels. On the contrary, if the move is insignificant, the temperature levels record a fall. Conclusively plate tectonic movement result in a change in climate though the rate is slow.
