Eating out in Cardiff - Ed's Easy Diner - 9th September, 2024

in #eatingout3 months ago (edited)

Hello! I recently went out to eat in Cardiff, it was SO busy and everywhere was pretty packed, but luckily we stumbled across this diner in the city centre shopping centre, St David's.

I don't go to Cardiff very often at all, probably once or twice a year at most, it's exciting going though. I love being in cities!

I really liked the retro feel the diner had, I've been to a few diners before, or at least cafe's with diner furniture but none of them were like this!

The menu had a lot of different options so I really wasn't sure what to get, but then I saw some gravy and cheese sauce fries which I HAD to get. Sure, it's not the same as poutine but it's similar enough (gravy, cheese, fries) and I've always wanted to try poutine- close enough!

Here is what I ordered! I got the loaded fries with cheese and gravy, and then I also got a diet coke float- with vanilla ice-cream.

The fries were delicious, I really want to recreate this at home, the gravy and cheese went so well together and the fries were crispy.

The diet coke float was also very tasty, it was really refreshing and the vanilla ice-cream mixed well with it! I enjoyed this a lot, just like the loaded fries, I'd also love to recreate this at home- but I'm trying to eat less sugar at the moment so it will be a little treat every once in a while.

My partner got a classic chicken burger with onion rings and fries- I didn't try any (we were both hungry and ate quickly haha) but he really enjoyed it! The onion rings and fries were nice and crispy, and the chicken burger was very filling and delicious.

He also got a lotus biscoff milkshake which he enjoyed, but did mention that it was very thick, so he ended up having sips of my drink to wash his food down, haha.

If we go again at some point, I think I would have a burger! Although I think I would be tempted by those gravy fries again...

Here is the logo of the diner and the prices of our food.

I did think it was a little overpriced, but it was in the city centre so I guess that makes sense.

In total this cost £33.27, which is roughly 200 STEEM.

I hadn't looked up any reviews before going to this diner, but I've had a look at their TripAdvisor it seems like their recent reviews are quite poor! I'm lucky I had a good experience then.

Thank you for reading! :)

I really like it when you add your own style to the graphics @artskills. I particularly liked the little star doodles you did on the first graphic. I think there's lots of potential there 😍

Thank you so much! I use the graphics from Canva, I also use this site for any photo editing at the moment! The little star doodles are very cute. Thank you!
