Here's how I actually make money on Ebay

I know, revealing secrets is not a good thing... but here's how I actually make money on Ebay.

First of all, the less you pay for an item you sell, the more money you make. So you need to source your items in the right way. The best places for this are car boots and police auctions.

Recently I got a designer jacket that new would cost 1000 pounds, for just 5 pounds. At the last police auction I went, one guy bought a Bulgari necklace for 22 pounds. After, I checked on Ebay and I realized they sell for hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds.

Here's a form I normally use when I go to police auctions:

This form is very useful when you can preview the items before the actual auction.

Yes, I'm very well organized! And it would also be good you know well one subject. For example, I'm knowledgeable about fashion, so I can tell you the value of an item straight away, and I can normally recognize fakes as well. However, there is an easy rule of thumb: if there is no brand or no mark, it has hardly any value. You can have very expensive silver spoons, but if you have no mark to show that it's really silver, then they have no value in Ebay.

Then you want to know how much your item will sell for. This is easily done: just follow the same procedure you would normally follow to sell that particular item:

In the example above I'm trying to sell an Armani jumper. If you follow the procedure until the end, in the last page you will find an estimate of the value, based on recent transactions. In my case, it would probably sell for more than 12.77 pounds and less than 32.29 pounds.

Isn't that fantastic? So, all you have to do is buying for less than the minimum sale price, and you will make money.
