Many folks lack the foresight to save for a rainy day. You make hay when the sun shines and you put it up in the store house. There is a biblical principle of course in the old Testament (Malachi). However this can be applied to ones family finances. Most folks are so into the moment that they do not think about what if an emergency came. Sadly responsibility is not practiced or encouraged.
