The Whole Truth About Our Bodies
There is this misconception that we always need to turn to others when we become unwell. That we need to see the professionals, who will know exactly what treatment we need, in order to get better. Yet how is that even possible, how can they really know who we are, because they really do need to know everything about us, if they are going to be able to recommend the right type of treatment.
Just treating the symptoms is only ever going to result in a temporary fix. Going to see someone who asks you just the specifics about your "illness" is never going to get the whole picture. And in today’s world so many people seek out the help of others, without actually giving their bodies the opportunity to try and heal itself.
Of course I am not talking about symptoms that may be life threatening, we do have to act responsibly at the end of the day. But there is no reason to run to the doctor every time you fell or become unwell. Our immune systems will only strengthened, once they are allowed to work and that happens when they are given the time to respond to our bodies, when they are in need.
So many people are suppressing their immune systems and as a result weakening them. Our bodies are made in a way so that they can defend against illness and disease, but if we never give them the chance then they never get to evolve which is what is meant to happen naturally.
By taking antibiotics and painkillers you are blocking your bodies natural response, which is to try and heal your body. Which makes your body become very sluggish and in the totally dependent on pharmaceuticals.
Our bodies can heal themselves, we just need to give them time to heal. There are numerous natural treatments that can be used to assist your body, that work on your whole being and as a result get to the root of your dis ease. Our bodies are amazing, they hold ancient wisdom and knowledge, they hold the potential to heal themselves and they know exactly what they need in order to preform at their peak.
I totally agree with the sentiment of allowing our bodies to heal rather than immediately running to a “professional“ to find relief. It is absolutely true that by taking certain medicines we are actually hindering our body rather than helping it. However, I do think that people need to be more educated about health and wellness before we can really empower ourselves. I think that holistic health practitioners are more keen to find the problem and treat that rather than treating symptoms. These professionals also tend to be more interested in helping people learn about their bodies as well. Education is key!
yes I agree education is vital, I guess the first step is getting back in touch with our own bodies, so many people have lost that. And definitely holistic health practitioners are invested in the whole, treating and healing the whole there is a need for them for sure. I have a great homoeopath and herbalist that I can go to. Real nice to connect with you again @alchemage.
I totally agree that the first step is getting back in touch with our own bodies. So many of us are caught up and the hustle bustle of every day life that we forget to take time to listen to ourselves. I think that alone would help immensely. I’m glad to hear that you have supportive practitioners in your life! They are hard to come by in some places.
Always nice to connect with you, @trucklife-family!
Symptoms, that western doctors try to stop, are our body's way of letting us know that our immune system is on the job. Honor your symptoms, love your body, get well. Thank you for this post.
you are welcome, thank you @owasco xx

You’re making me think of a recent experience answering a progress survey for my chiropractor. For a few of the questions there was no option that didn’t assume that if you had pain you were taking pain killers. The only time I’ve taken pain killers was after surgery or a wisdom tooth removal. It really made me wonder if that’s so odd and if everyone is running to painkillers for chronic pain where the source really needs to get resolved instead.

I think most people do rely on painkillers to be honest, never letting their bodies deal with the pain and thus lowering their pain threshold x
I have been reallt boosting my immune system the best I know how.. preventative medicine! Worried about flu season. Doctors are always surprised when I seem to know whats going in own body. Sadly not all people are taught to listen or there is too much other noise going on in their world. We are our own healers. Great post.
I know, so many are disempowered because of this xx
Reconnecting with this inherent TRUST in ourselves and the knowledge that it is a self-correcting-self-maintaining system is radical. I wold add that this is ESPECIALLY and even more relevant when a condition is life threatening.

@ecoTrain
definitely I agree our bodies are trying all the time to communicate with us and when we actually suffer with serious dis ease we really do need to listen x
Oh, Amen! Your body talks to you and if you listen carefully, it will tell you exactly what is wrong. The big mistake is when we ignore it and then it escalates into something else.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Nobody knows what feels right better than me!
