I can see why people get 1, but outside the order of operations, we work left to right.
6 / 2 x (2+1) = 6 / 2 x 3 = 3 x 3 = 9
Not: 6 / 2 x (2+1) = 6 / 2 x 3 = 6 / 6 = 1
But I like these ideas, you can make an educational blog out of this. People will be follow you. After all, everyone wants to show their intellect.

First the parentheses: 1+2 = 3
Then multiply: 2(3) = 6
Then divide: 6/6 = 1
The answer is "1"
