Steemit Q&A with Temple University Students [@phillyhistory]
A Virtual Chat with Students
@phillyhistory is currently in the midst of hosting a history course at Temple University, where a talented group of graduate students are acclimating to Steemit and using the platform to share their work and research. The @sndbox team was in Philadelphia last month for a workshop and today we’re continuing the conversation through @dtube. We’ve received some great questions over the last few weeks and thought we could share some of them with the greater Steemit community. The DTube video has us discussing several Steemit and broader topics including the following -
@dduquette : Do you think Steemit supports cultural institutions and a space for cultural/social work?
@dduquette : What type of content does well on Steemit? How does Steemit improve on ‘stickiness’ and user retention?
@engledd : What are good strategies of engaging others into a project conversation?
@tmaust : What is the ultimate goal of Steemit?
@gvgktang : What are the demographics of Steemit?
@jfeagan : Is the Steemit platform something that could be made with another blockchain?
@tmaust : Will Steemit remain a Wild West-type of atmosphere?
Let us know your thoughts on the questions as well in the comments below! We’ll look to discussing more and more aspects of the Steem blockchain and Steemit ecosystem in the months to come, especially as it pertains to education and professional practice.

@sndbox Kudos on a great super informative and educational series, learning so much out of this and helping me answer some questions that i frequently got asked much better. And Big shout out on using my music and the shoutout! ;) Steem On
Good work! Interesting across the board. LOTS to chew on.
I made sure the Temple students got word of this. Hoping they will chime in with comments and (yes! of course) more questions.
Looking forward to continuing this back and forth. As the students get more familiar - there are definitely layers of questions that arise. We'll do our best to field them as they come up. If this format is productive for your class we'll continue to do it each week or every other week.
Thanks @phillyhistory team!
This has a lot to do with the target audience. Everyone comes in for the money, but some where along the line, they realise there's more to steemit than earning, and not everyone has patience for it.
I feel the younger sect (teens and young adults), would need a lot more conviction and motivation to stay, as steemit is more stoic entertainment-wise as regards other social platforms.
Back to the first question, I've noticed crypto, technogical and science related articles perform better in comparison to others but there are other factors that could effect this (delegation and promotion).
Great thoughts and feedback @debbietiyan, thank you! Patience is key. Steem is a marathon, everyone needs to take time and find a healthy pace.
I believe steemit supports cultural institutions and has a space for cultural works as I have seen many post on culture and even in various languages. About the content that does well on steemit well I do not have an answer to it. I'll simply say find your niche and locate people of likeminds and your content will do well so long it is original and had got quality.
The ultimate goal of steemit is to reward creativity. I will love to read other comments and response to these questions too.
Absolutely @zizymena. Steemit is a global community with so many languages and networks. As time goes on there will be more and more ways for people to discover niches of these networks but it's also kind of refreshing (from a social media perspective) to be able to explore such diverse content!
You are absolutely right. I'm so looking forward to steemit taking over the social media world.
Yes I agree steemit will also expand to enter the village kampong not familiar with steemit
Many creative children's works that can make anything interesting,
With the steemit they can work in steemit because their work will be paid
