Our Education System

The former Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali had stated in a speech that, ‘’we will practice equal education system throughout country. What he meant by equal education system is clear if we go back to the era before colonization of India Sub-continent. It is the backbone of every powerful nation.
When world’s famous pope Singer Keat Stone, currently named as Yousaf Islam, embraced Islam, he decided to have a school in London having Islamic Teachings. When he discussed this issue with the Department of Education and Sciences, he was disappointed to hear the reply. Media aroused this issue and asked the Prime Minister on several occasions. Fed up with so much questions, he one day described the cause of his refusal. He said that if we want unity of nations in our country, we must have a single education system.
With the emergence of single education system a nation will be able to have national consciousness and unity. Furthermore the society as resulted will be ‘’No Class Distinction’’ and the country will face no problem of inner chaos.
Before the COLONIZERS came to Sub-continent, there was only one type of educational system. One curriculum, same educational institutes, same ideology and equal educational environment. Britishers first of all want to eliminate the unity so that they might easily rule us. For doing so they concentrate on vanishing the single education system. A system was introduced by which the theory of life is presented quite contradictory. Instead of ‘’there is no God but ALLAH, and MOHAMMAD (s.a.w) is the prophet of Allah” the ideology of life change to materialistic achievements, job availing and worldly development.
Hence Muslim scholars and saints emphasized on religious thoughts and knowledge beside the worldly aims. There is no doubt that we are still having religious institutions until today is the sacrifices of great saints like Shah Waliullah and Alf Sani and many others. But what the westerners wanted came into existence. They wanted the elimination of unity and introducing multi systems of education so as to produce disturbance among the Muslims and could easily rule them.
The current mature multi system of education is the result of westerner wishes. Now we have two main system of education; Religious and secular. In religious, Deoband, Ahl-e-hadees, Barilwees and Shias have separate educational system. Same is the case with secular where we have more than ten systems of education. The students of each system hated the other and criticize the other.
Looking at these situation in our country, our rivalries who established this system will be very glad to feel that their mission had successful. They invest money in our country’s education department in order to maintain the multi-type of education system. On one side they regulate their own school in the form of Beacon House or st.Pual Schooling system. On the other hand they invest annually to government schools so that these systems may flourish side by side. In government school, again they invest money to both English medium and urdu medium. As a result a vast gap is arising and expanding day by day between the citizens. A space of criticizing each other instead of working together or accepting each other is a critical problem we are facing.
This system of education will not be modified by a miracle. If we no further remain passive and take responsibility of awaking people of their dreams, the system will soon be mended and we could be able to adopt every field of study in a single education system. The task is not that much easy but we should not be dishearten. Media should play its role to make a situation like:
“AIK-HE-SAF-ME-KARRE-HO-GAYE-MEHMOOD-O-AYAZ”
“NA-KOI-BANDA-RAHA-NA-KOI-BANDA-NAWAZ”
