The Saqqara Desert (360° VR)

✎ Welcome to the desert of the real..
Outside of the beach and the playground, sand is not something you see much in Europe.
The Saqqara desert was the first time I walked in a barren wasteland. Most Egyptians that came up to us offering camels and horses don't really understand why we prefer walking in the sand for miles in the scorching sun but having never seen a desert before this is a surreal experience that you otherwise only hear or see about in movies and videogames.  What made it even better is learning about the history of this place and how sacred it was to the Egyptians and beyond, to the extent that even Alexander the Great left his mark. There are many tunnels that go deep underground with elaborate tombs and giant sarcophagi dedicated to the sacred Apus bull. The pyramids allthough very present, are surprisingly one of the least interesting things of this place.
The Saqqara desert holds so many secrets, I'm certain many more mysteries will be uncovered over the years.
