Why i believe the US Presidential election is absurd

in #election8 years ago

I find it so baffling that in the US, a total of 8 days has to be spent just to announce who the Democrat and Republican nominees are. Even more baffling why people would spend lots of money flying to the cities hosting the Conventions and attend them. Not wanting to be demeaning, but don't these people have lives?

It's like what the great comedian Lewis Black said in an interview with Stephen Colbert, the Conventions are nothing more than prep rallies.

And if you really think about it, at the individual level, what does/can the President do, to make your life better? Will you wake up the day after the election, your person having won the Presidency, and your life be any better than the previous day?

At best the President can do things like lower taxes, but even then that requires approval by Congress, so any promises made by candidates are pure speculation, as Congress may say no to the promises made.

And come on, do you honestly think the US President, or those wanting to be President really care about you? I honestly think they could care less about you, and as soon as they get elected as was the case with Obama, then the people don't even matter.

So come election day you can go and vote and make yourself feel warm and fuzzy, but at the end of the day, whoever gets elected will forget you voters even exist.

Hi! This post has a Flesch-Kincaid grade level of 9.9 and reading ease of 69%. This puts the writing level on par with Michael Crichton and Mitt Romney.

Theyre sociopaths, yet people think it makes a difference. One messes up and they are quickly hired elsewhere and promoted (DNC Chairwoman recently that had the leaked emails come out from her after resigning was hired to be on Clintons campaign).

Incompetence is rewarded; and the rest of us are toast.

The question is, what do we do? Apart from people, who are constantly being divided on every issue(guns, abortion etc.), we have literally NO influence in politics. And with the three big T trade agreements, we're going to spiral even faster. What do we do?

Bitcoin and altcoins may be a viable option to break free from USD hegemony, but keep in mind more than 50% of new bitcoins being mined are in China(search 51% china bitcoins), we're just switching power.
