Elections in india

Does democrary actually exists in india.
I would say No and there are so many reasons behind this No.
We usually see that in india elections are more based on useless topics rather than development. The main agenda on which politicians contest election are based on cast, religion, and other issues like temple, mosque, or religion.
I think people should change the vision about elections but unfortunately we don't. So its a matter of big concern because in the era of space and IT we are stil fighting on these useless topics .Democrary has a deep meaning but we have made it just a word of justification.
