Electroneum Delay / Password Reset

Hi Everyone!

Firstly - PLEASE do not reply to this email address - it won't get a response - my inbox has over 10,000 unread messages.

We are asking EVERY Electroneum holder to ensure that their EMAIL ADRESS PASSWORD is very secure. We know that hundreds of Electroneum holders EMAIL ACCOUNTS have been compromised by a sophisticated hacking team.

There have been a number of security incidents on other websites in the past, unrelated to Electroneum (including, but not limited to, DropBox, Yahoo, Adobe, Last.FM, Tumbler, LinkedIN, Ebay etc.).

Electroneum has NOT been directly affected by these incidents but we've detected that quite a number of our users accounts are at risk as they may have been using the same email addresses and passwords in more than one place.

To secure your Electroneum account, we are going to be requiring everyone to reset their password before we make the wallet system live. DO NOT RESET YOUR ELECTRONEUM PASSWORD NOW - we are going to reset it. We are asking you to reset and secure your EMAIL ADDRESS PASSWORD.

To re-iterate our system has NOT been compromised.

Please ensure that the EMAIL ADDRESS that you have used to register your Electroneum account is SECURE. This means you should really change your email address password (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc.) to something VERY secure. Please use the links below for some password generator sites that will make you a secure password.

Your Email account password SHOULD NOT be used anywhere else.

The safety of your ETN coins is entirely reliant on ensuring your primary email account is secure before we ask you to change your Electroneum passw

Electroneum Password Reset

Hi Everyone!

Firstly - PLEASE do not reply to this email address - it won't get a response - my inbox has many thousands of unread messages, I'm afraid I can't reply to them.

Further to our earlier announcement requesting people to ensure that their email addresses were secured, we can confirm that in the interests of your security we are going to reset all users passwords at 12 Midnight UTC (London Time - GMT). In about 2 hours.

This will require you to carry out the forgotten password recovery process.

We will be emailing all users and posting on social media a set of instructions at 12 midnight (UK Time).

We have also modified and upgraded the emailing system to cope with demand and worked with Amazon’s system architects to upgrade our server infrastructure to better cope with the inevitable large demand that we are going to create from midnight.

Following the password reset there will period of network analysis by our dev team and the Amazon team to ensure we’ve made every effort to ensure our users are protected as much as we possibly can before full access to your ETN balances and transfer functionality are made live a short time after.

Please note that there is no need to reset your password exactly at 12 midnight – you can reset it at any point AFTER midnight.

We apologise for this delay, and understand it has been extremely frustrating for many of you. Thanks again for your patience and understanding in this matter, I’m sure you agree that having identified a possible risk (as previously posted) we are acting in the best interests of our users.

Best Regards,

Electroneum Password Reset

Hi Everyone!

PLEASE do not reply to this email address - it won't get a response - my inbox has over 10,000 unread messages.

Please follow the instructions below.

You do not need to do this immediately, you will just need to reset your password when you next log in.

Visit https://my.electroneum.com/resetting/request

Enter your email address and click RESET PASSWORD.

Wait for a confirmation email to arrive (to your primary email account). This might take a little while due to server load, however the link to reset your password WILL BE STILL BE VALID.

The link will take you back to the Electroneum Wallet Manager system and ask you to reset your password. Choose a secure password. Complete the captcha code displayed.

Follow the instructions to set up your PIN (this 5 digit Personal Identification Number is part of a system called Two Factor Authentication or 2FA). You will be asked to enter a PIN Recovery Email Address - this should ideally be a DIFFERENT email address to your primary one. It will be used to reset your PIN number in the event of forgetting it. Using a different email protects you if your primary email is hacked.

You'll then need to click the link in the PIN Recovery Email Address - and you are done.

You can log in to the website or the app with your new details and PIN number.

There will be a short period after 12 midnight whilst we analyse network traffic with the Amazon team (all our server infrastructure is on Amazon AWS, the same place that Netflix is hosted). Once we are satisfied the new infrastructure is protecting our users to the best of our abilities we will launch the wallet transfer system on the Electroneum Android App and https://my.electroneum.com a short time later.

Keep your eye on https://facebook.com/electroneum for further updates

Again, we are very sorry for the delay in activating our service, we feel it is important to make every effort to try and ensure our users are protected from the inevitable attempts to compromise their accounts.
