Taming The Red Devils

in #electroneum7 years ago

Finally I am able to join the Radeon Vega mining master race!
Behold, two of the Powercolor Radeon RX VEGA 56 Red Devil custom

those two replaced these three

those are RX 580 8GB, RX 570 4GB, and RX 460 4GB. Together they are worth around 1500 h/s.

What are the two Radeon VEGA 56 worth of?

So what I did to achieve optimum hashrates for my setup consisting of:

Ryzen R7 1700 at 3.9 Ghz
RX 460 4GB
2 RX Vega 56 Red Devil Custom
a Thermaltake 750w 80+ Bronze Power Supply

is to:

  1. Install the august blockchain driver
  2. Setup the XMR STAK AMD Cryptonight mining software to mine with the two vega only and XMR STAK CPU to mine with 6 cores only.
  3. adjust setup on afterburner: Voltage -50mv, Power limit -50%, Core frequency 1100 Mhz, Memory frequency 950 Mhz, and fan speed 40%.
  4. Turn on HBCC on wattman
  5. Enable and disable each vega consecutively in device manager.
  6. Run XMR STAK CPU and XMR STAK AMD

with those steps, I finally have the combined GPU hashrate around 3450 h/s, making it around 1720 h/s per vega, and CPU hashrate around 420 h/s. The whole system runs at around 560 W.

I didn't push the vega further since my PSU is already on the safe edge of its capacity.

Maybe after my 1200w PSU arrives I will push the VEGAs further in a new system.

Sort:

somehow the pool sees higher hashrates from the 2 VEGA 56

averaging around 4500 h/s. This is just GPU hashrates from those two VEGA.
