Ring on a wooden table. Drawing illustration with markers

in #elegance6 years ago

Hello, Steemit!)

I want to show a small illustration made with markers.
I drew this work for one contest dedicated to jewelry. As a reference I took a photo from the profile of one of the sponsors of the contest.
This unusual ring is called “Kiss me”, although I would rather call it “The Kiss of Nature”. Upper opal is associated with the weightless azure of the sky and a suspension of white clouds, and the lower opal - with delicate rose petals.

First, drew the contours with pencil.

Started to paint start from the background.
Based on the selected reference, I drew a wooden table on the background, lightly covered with lichens. For wood used dark and light shades of orange, brown, umber and dark gray for the deepest shadows. For lichens used colors ecru, orange, sand, greenish gray and dark gray.
To emphasize the texture of lichens, lined their form, emphasized readability.

Painted the second half of the background. The further plan will be blurred in the future, so I drew it more abstract.

Painted the first stone on the ring. For this, I used markers of pink, yellow, brown and gray shades. With white permanent pencil and white gel pen drew the highlights.

Then painted over the second stone. For an unusual pattern on the stone used markers of color ecru, light blue, dark blue watercolor. Metal painted with shades of gray and umber.

At the final stage, I intensified the shadows and the contrast in the picture, emphasized the details and highlights.
The distant plan of the picture was blurred in the editor so that the viewer's attention was fully paid to the ring.
My picture is ready.

Thank you for attention!

That is INSANELY good @kleonella!

Интересно смотрится : )

Very beautifully drawn, @kleonella <3 As usual, your step by step presentation is very nicely done and I love the finished picture ! The gemstones are so wonderfully rendered and the background gives a lovely contrast of fuzziness against the ring's metal feel <3 Wonderful picture~
