As of 2023, the United States still boasts the most billionaires with 775 list members, according to Forbes, which released its list of the wealthiest people in the country for the first time since 2019 on June 15.

Nearly every state has a billionaire resident, according to the report. However, four states make up 60 percent of billionaires in the United States as of June 12: California (179), New York (130), Texas (73), and Florida (92). As of June 2023, only three states are without a billionaire: Alaska, Delaware, and West Virginia. Nearly two-thirds of these billionaires and cent millionaires are self-made, while the rest inherited their fortunes, according to Forbes.

The youngest person on the list is Illinois’ 36-year-old Lukas Walton, who gained his wealth as part of the family that owns Walmart, while the oldest billionaire is 93-year-old Annette Lerner of Maryland, the widow of Washington Nationals owner Ted Lerner.
