What's the best way to add "decentralized" web services to my company's portfolio?

in #email7 years ago (edited)

This post is more of a question, but I trust steemit is hands down the best community for asking these questions, because steeemians are "awesome" and like to "esteem" community members. Here we go..

I currently have a web company that specializes in helping small businesses have website hosting, reliable email and secure backups of their data. Of course, we rent dedicated servers from a large data center and we use in house software in conjunction with 3rd party services like Gmail for business - for email, Google Drive or Dropbox for file sharing / backups, etc. We basically charge a small monthly fee for the static website hosting, backups of site files and consulting on how to stay secure and be on the cutting edge. We also make money managing PPC accounts for them under this same monthly recurring fee.

I would like to add a "decentralized" package for all my clients though. I have experimented in the past with Bittorrent's Sync product for file sharing and a few others for email and hosting but some of these have not been reliable or the friction getting into them or using them takes away the incentive to use them.

So my question is, "If you owned by business and wanted to roll out a very simple "decentralized" small business solution package for; static website hosting, email hosting, file sharing and backups of these files; what software or services would you suggest today? Let me ask another way just to clarify: What 3rd parties / companies offer these services on the blockchain or some other decentralized network; or what projects can I fork to build my own solutions for this today?

Let's see what awesome feedback Steemians have for this one! :D @jerrybanfield @dantheman
