These payments are being processed in real time and the artist earns MNX for it...When the musician now decides to liquidate his accumulated funds, then an Eos account would now be linked and the funds can be withdrawn and exchanged using hobbits, Bancor, tokenpocket ... Etc.

The artist can decide whether or not to convert to fiat or HODL for as long as possible.
