Emanate: I’m no longer the CTO of this project

in #emanate6 years ago

Hey there my friends!

Just want to make public that I left Emanate project effective from August 13th. It was supposed to be the Emanate team to announce it, but they keep on pushing it further and further and I want to clarify it now, so that nobody is misinformed about the project team.

Since then I have been trying to make this an easy exit. I didn't want to make any harm to the project and didn't want to get involved in any public war with them, just wanted to leave the project and for them to leave me alone.

I asked so many times for them to remove me and DSound from official website and all media. One month has past since their first deadline to accomplish this simple task and there are still many references all over the places.

I inform you that I didn't take a single cent from that project. I promptly signed the documents to give the other 3 shareholders my 30% shares of the company and I got nothing in return for it. What they offered in return was so ridiculous that I preferred to give it away...

All I demanded to my exit was for them to pay for the work that developers have put in the project... And they didn't care to honour their responsibilities. Because of that, I demanded that they removed all mine and other developer's code from GitHub, because the code is our Intellectual Property, but they just put the repositories in GitHub private. They said that they would remove all our code, let's hope that they know what they're doing...

So today, one month after the first deadline, I issued a DMCA takedown to Emanate website, that maintains many photos, videos and mentions of me as CTO and many references of DSound as proof of concept, which they are not authorised to use since the day I left the project.

I designed the project from ground up, pointed the direction for it's strategy, but never felt that the team was supporting me. In fact I was almost leaving the project back in March, but decided to give the project another chance since it was so important for the music industry and because the team assured me they would change.

But now, looking back, seems to me that they only wanted to leverage on my experience and success with DSound, to provide them access to EOS VC's with my technical background on the project, and probably they succeeded. In fact it's not relevant anymore. I wish them the best luck because it is something I designed.

So, I want everyone to know that I am not implementing Emanate, that I no longer have responsibility for the projects outcome and neither for the destination of the funds that might be raised.

Lot's of Love to you all and I am sorry for this change of plans... But it is actually great for DSound, since I am pushing the next update to the moon now... Stay tuned! ;)

Cheers, PRC

Big bumps man!!
Sorry to hear this but happy you have found the energy to keep driving the force. :D
Cheers for all your support since joining.
Yeeeow.

Sorry to hear bro, at the same time it's great for @dsound so no complain ! It's been such a weird phase, so many projects that I though were legit were just cash grab ( I am not saying that's the case for Emanate), so going back to the basic might be a good idea for all of us !
Long live to @dsound

Sorry to hear that my friend. Hindsight is 20/20. All we can do is look forward and make the future better than the past has been.

Glad to hear the silver lining though that DSound is getting even more love now :). You do great work, keep it up @prc!

Out of solidarity, I am both angry and sad hearing this, especially knowing you invested so much of yourself in that project, while still managing to devote time to the DSound we all know and love. I sincerely hope they will honor their legal responsibilities toward you and that you will be fairly compensated! I have purchased a couple of thousand tokens from Emanate, but now that I know how they used you instead of honoring you and your work, I'm not sure I want anything to do with them anymore... May this unsavory experience be counter balanced by many more fruitful endeavors, all crowned with success! I am proud to be a moderator for the DSound Discord, LONG LIVE DSOUND!

Cant wait for the Dsound update my friend!

@prc Ohhh man! what a shocking news I among many were so happy that you are spearheading the project and creating another dope platform for the music communities on the blockchain... Its a bummer heating things went this direction and as u said great news for Dsound hope all turns out to the best and I'm sure it will. Keep strong and keep doing wut u do best, full support always!

Just made a post about it on whaleshares and linked it to this post

@prc i am sorry to know that because i think your idea for Emanate was brilliant once again, just like Dsound, but i believe your judgment and i wish all good for you my friend.
DSound rules ;)

Dsound is one of steem Dapps that I love and use. It's because I finally find a replacement of soundcloud and propietary music streaming out there. It helps me listen to many talented musicians out there. I hope Dsound will becoming even better in the future. Looking forward for an update!

Props to you for the way you handled this. Must feel good to have a bit of closure by announcing it publicly. Seems like you gave them plenty of time to take care of things and you can't just sit back and let them drag their heels forever.

Thanks for all your hard work on @dsound, by the way. It's been one of the only big DApp projects I've gotten any significant support from, and psychologically made a big impact on how I feel using STEEM. Anyway, I don't know if I ever told you directly how grateful I am. Cheers!

sorry to hear you are getting messed about , long live dsound
