Empathy

Besides the known definition of empathy, the individual is an attitude towards the observable experiences of other people. While empathy varies from person to person, the test developed for the measurement of this change offers us four subcomponents of empathy.

The Perspective Recruitment subscale shows the tendency of other people to take perspectives in everyday life;

The fantasy subscale is the tendency of a person to put himself / herself into the actions and feelings of characters in a story, play or novel;

Empathy Interest subscale, tendency to feel interest and warmth for other people;

The Personal Distress subscale measures typical emotional response tendencies, such as the distress and discomfort that a person experiences due to observing the other in need.

The study of the effect of empathy on the emotions and preferences awakened by sad music also found positive correlations and direct relationships between the sub-components of empathy and the preference of music.
