By the people of Aceh, the mention of Lamuri later changed to Lamreh. This old port, then taken over by PT Pelindo in 1970. This port was once a port of transit to the island of Sabang in the era of the 80s.

Then the port is converted to serve as a place to stop the freighter after the operation of the Port of Ulee Lheue approximately in 2004. At the time of the tsunami, the location of this harbor was affected by the tidal wave of sea water. A few moments this port can not be stopped by the ship. After a cleanup by donor agencies, around 2007 the port is back in operation.
