BKSDA Aceh Releases 4 Primates to Habitat
BANDA ACEH - Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) Aceh, released 4 male non-tailed apes, 2 larval larvae and 2 gibbons (symphalangus syndactylus) to their habitat, Thursday, February 1, 2018 This event was held in commemoration of Indonesia Primate Day.
Head of BKSDA Aceh, Sapto Aji Prabowo, said the four primates are animals that are kept by the community and then secured by BKSDA Aceh officers, after receiving treatment and training from BKSDA newly released.
"The animals have received care and training in the temporary cage BKSDA Aceh, which is 2 wild ungko (hylobates lar) from Pidie for almost 4 months and 2 gibbons from Banda Aceh for 3 weeks," said Sapto, through press releases, Thursday afternoon
He said that during the period of care and quarantine of the four animals in BKSDA, the types of food given are not only fruit, but also leaves. "In order for animals to be accustomed to not only eat the fruit so easily adapt to the conditions in the habitat, as well as giving multivitamins, internal and external parasite control," said Sapto.
The head of BKSDA Aceh explained that from the analysis of veterinary diagnosis of BKSDA Aceh, the four animals have been mature, have shown wild signs, sound very loud, healthy and not defective so it is considered feasible and able to easily find and adapt in the forest
Since January 29, 2018 the release process was prepared by partnering with partners. The release site has been surveyed by partners and officers providing logistics for the implementation of the release, "explained Sapto.
