The difference between VPN and Proxy: Which is the best for security
If you are an internet user and are vigilant about your online security, then you must have heard the name of VPN and probably used VPN often. But the ordinary people of our country are aware of VPN only when whenever the government temporarily closes Facebook. Besides, ordinary people may never know that there is something called VPN. However, come to point.
Many people think proxies and VPN are the same thing. Two things are working in a common cause, is to hide your IP and to unblock blocked websites. However, the fact that the simulation of the VPN and proxy server is over there to be true.
VPN:
VPN Provider and none other than you will know your real IP!
You may well know what VPN is and how to use it. But if you do not know yet, then say, VPN is working as a middle-man between you and the website or server you are trying to connect to. Before you connect to the server if you use VPN, your device will connect to the VPN provider's own server first and then connect to the server of your desired website. As a result, your IP address will remain hide and the request will be sent to the web server, from the IP address of your VPN Provider.
As a result, your own IP address will be secure and hidden. In simple words, using VPN, your whole device goes through an encrypted tunnel made of VPN providers and goes on the Internet for all types of requests, where VPN providers and none other than you can know about your real IP and location. As a result, you can also access the blocked websites or Web services in your country, in geographically resident sites.
If it is easy to say, then the proxy server and VPN work are very similar. The proxy server also acts as a middle-man between you and the web server you are trying to connect to. Every device that comes to your device from the device and comes to the Internet comes first to your connected proxy server and then goes to your desired web server or comes to your device. As a result, the web server assumes that the request is coming from the IP address of the proxy server, not from your virtual IP address. But simultaneity between VPN and Proxy is so far.
VPN and proxy differences:
There is considerable difference between how VPN and proxy work and what kind of security can be ensured. Firstly, VPN encrypts your connection completely from the system level of your device, so all your PC's apps and all services and all incoming and outgoing connections are encrypted with the help of VPN server. If you want to be able to extract some apps from your VPN software, in most cases the proxy does not encrypt the connection from the system level of your device. To activate the proxy, you need to change the proxy server from the Individual apps or software settings, and therefore only the app or the service uses the proxy.
HTTP proxy servers do not have any encryption!
Among the proxy servers, the most common HTTP proxy is that you can access the settings of the web browser, or by entering a free proxy website, typing your desired website address, visiting the website, using HTTP proxy, you can hide your IP address. However, the name implies that HTTP means non-secure connection and HTTPS means secure connection. So you are using HTTP proxy, this means that your connection does not have any encryption. This means that the proxy server is just hiding your IP, your connection is not encrypted! Which is absolutely ridiculous. Because, if your connection is not encrypted, then why would you want to use a proxy server?
And if you want to talk about VPN, you can create a non-encrypted VPN server by configuring yourself using one of your own servers, but in most cases you can not use the VPN service, it will encrypt your connection. There is also no practical reason to configure a non-encrypted VPN server by configuring it as well as its own.
Always try to stay away from the free proxy!
And with proxy, there are many proxies in addition to the HTTP proxy, which support HTTPS connections. However, all the free proxy websites you use and use on the internet, almost all of them use HTTP connections. That is, it will only hide your IPE. However, because your connection is unencrypted, everything you are doing on the Internet will be visible to your proxy provider and web server. As a result, the proxy server can use you for a variety of purposes. For example, because your connection is not encrypted, they can inject the ads on their own. Because - your connection is not encrypted and they can also modify your connection, since you are using their proxy server. Now you can understand why and how these free proxy websites can offer free services. So try to always stay away from the free proxy.
This was a major difference between VPN and Proxy Server. Hopefully somehow I can make you understand that which is more secure among the VPN and Proxy and what you and I should use?
