My super simple solar set up in my kitchen. [ You could easily do this too.]

My panels are ran in through the the window into the 1000 watt gridtie inverter. That is literally all you need. I only have 2 100 watt panels currently so I can expande to up to 10 panels in total with that gridtie.

You may jave thought it was super complicated but, really it just plug directly into your outlet and provide energy to your home and the grid simultaneously.

The component on the right is called a "charge controller" and I only utilize that to charge the deep cycle battery you there. The battery acts like a solar generator that I can easily charge whenever I want effortlessly. So if the there was a power outage I would be able to go about my life with hardly any change at all.

If you are looking to get some solar incorporated into your home this the quickest direct path possible that is super effective/functional and very cheap for what it is. For the two panels and the gridtie( which feeds your entire home.) Your looking at around $400.

I plan to expand in the near future. It feels really good being self sufficient when it comes to electrical needs.

That's pretty slick. I've been thinking for some time about solar on a budget. Can't go wrong with what you have going there.
