Beautiful Woman: Promotional video of my band

Today I would like to present to you a musical project that had as its priority to follow the paths of peace and seek divine wisdom through God.
The knowledge acquired from each one of us was made known individually, that is to say, each one of us learned on his or her own. On a musical level, we all had knowledge in accordance with their instruments.
Thank God we were specializing in a musical genre, which was part of our project from the beginning.
(Reggae Music) It was chosen by unanimous decision.

Nattydread Reggae music band // From Venezuela

I'll be talking to you only and exclusively about the creation of the music video Beautiful Woman. This project was carried out approximately in 2006, to give a boost to the band through a promotional video. This video was created in only two locations, my home and Bahía de Cata (Venezuela)

Selection

The band had several songs ready and the selection process was not easy, as all the songs had good potential to make their own music video. After several hours of discussing the selection, we made the decision to make a love video and at the same time something a little more commercial for our listeners. The most relevant theme in this regard was the song Beautiful Woman.

Recording

We had the song structurally ready, but we still didn't have it recorded decently, so we had work to do. We were looking for a good recording studio to present our track so we could record it; a good sound was necessary. In our search, we noticed that the studies we visited were often missing something. To our surprise, a colleague and friend of the band invited us to their recording studio and we decided to record in their own home. (Yeah... his studio was at home)

Plans

At a fair and determined moment in our lives, a person who was studying advertising and marketing arrived and was asked to make a music video as a university project, which was the final test for her to graduate. After that and after talking very well with Adriana Carolina Salas Blanco (student), we decided to do this project, which was to make a music video of a band of any genre, preferably regional. It just so happens that Adriana and I studied high school together and so I already knew my band.

Location

To make a music video you need more than two locations to project in a positive and visual way what you want to convey, therefore, the lyrics of the song must be relevant to the location of the video, and carry out a musical and visual sequence. To save costs, I proposed that one of the locations be my own house; of course, with some arrangements, it would be presentable. Everyone thought it was a good idea. After that, listening carefully to the subject came to mind; a beach, but... What beach? So as not to go so far we decided to do it in Bahía de Cata.

Production

First we took many shots at the first location (My house). We arranged everything with black fabrics for the background, with a green, yellow and red flag representing the Rasta colors, since our musical genre is Reggae music. Each of us was visually arranged for the video, we literally polished each instrument and looked for our best clothes for it. Then we head to the second location (Bahía de Cata). Everything was much more difficult there. We had to take care of the recording equipment, the trip was very exhausting, the breeze was huge and the observers couldn't avoid them. One shot after another, something could be done. It should be noted that the video model was excellent.

Edition

As a band we do our job, everything else is in the hands of the professionals in the field. I also looked into how the video arrangements were going. Without much knowledge of editing but also giving my opinions regarding the improvement of the work, no member of the band had anything to do with the editing process, since the production company would take care of that as a way of learning to do their thesis.

Layout Design

Finally, the producers of our video saw the arduous task of structuring everything in the best possible way. Despite their inexperienced experience, they were able to shape the Beautiful Woman video. They went through a lot of things that sometimes, no matter how positive they were, caused us to throw in the towel, but we never gave up and as brothers we gave ourselves the strength to keep on producing. Thanks to the support of the producers, we can enjoy our first and only promotional video so far.

Here I leave you the proof of all the above. I cannot say goodbye without first mentioning my loved ones who have been part of this musical project since its inception.
