I hope you are super good, today I bring you a story that is a bit scary and interesting at the same time ... Today I bring you:

The Mysterious Story of The Winchester Mansion

Actually when I came across this curious story I really was shocked, and today I come to tell you ... So be comfortable to read this peculiar story.

It all started in the city of San Jose - California ... There is a giant and chilling building or mansion that occupies an incredible 20,000 square meters ... I'm talking about the Winchester Mystery House, a of the most mysterious buildings in the world.

The origin of this story is something bloody, it is the creation of the Rifle Winchester, which was one of the weapons that took more lives in the struggle between Native Americans and Americans in the decade of 1860.

In 1880 William Wirt Winchester, inherited the company of his father who had become a billionaire thanks to the weapon. As if it were something malevolent William died just one year later (March 7, 1881) at the age of 43 years of a Tuberculosis; leaving alone his wife Sarah Winchester, who received a large amount of money, about 20 million dollars of that time, which would amount to about 500 million in these times, and also charging 1,000 dollars a day, which would be about 25,000 today.

When her husband died, her mind broke down completely. The couple had already lost a daughter when she was only 4 years old, and after the death of William, Sarah was completely disconsolate, I try to find a logical explanation for her "misfortune", but she was so, so hurt that she was unable to do it So he decided to look for her in the paranormal world. Sarah visited a Medium in search of answers, the witch assured her that she had a curse for having benefited economically from the death of so many people; and that all the spirits of the deceased by the weapon of her ex-husband's family would harass her for the rest of her life.

The occultist advised her not to have an early death to make a house, but not any house, if not, a house for the dead, that would leave her in peace while the building NOT TO BE FINISHED; then, Sarah Winchester in the year 1884 made the house in San Jose, where there was already a farm with only 8 rooms. Contract a legion of workers who began to improve the house. It was a house where there was always someone working there every day of the year until the death of Mrs. Winchester. Sarah was afraid that if she did not participate in the work the spirits would seek her out to torment her, then she herself directed everything.

From that small farm I build a very luxurious building. At one point the house reached the height of 7 stories, but the San Francisco earthquake in 1906, the building was damaged and the workers had to demolish much of the house; She understood this as a message from the spirits and was even more frightened. At present the house has 4 floors high.

Sarah's obsession with the ghosts caused them to tear down many parts of the house and then rebuild it; ordered to place very strange traps for ghosts throughout the house, doors that lead to blank walls, doors that lead to the outside but on an upper floor without a balcony, interior windows on the floor, stairs that lead nowhere, towers without senses, among others ...

Sarah Winchester knew many rituals, symbology and encryption techniques. Many of the works produced by Sarah's madness had a hidden meaning, for example:
She always thought that number 13 would protect her from death, for that reason the Winchester house has 13 bathrooms, where one of them is reached by crossing a ladder of 13 steps and having 13 windows
The pavement of the entrance is divided into 13 sections
In the bedroom that was Sarah's there are 13 hooks on which she hung 13 dresses that she used in her spiritualism sections
There are also 13 glass domes and
Your will is divided into 13 sections and was signed 13 times

What madness, right?

Sarah's beliefs never disappeared, and were getting worse and worse; they say that she covered her face with a black veil so that no one would ever see her face, it is also said that she never slept twice in the same room two nights in a row, she thought that the spirits would get confused and they would not know where to find her . I also build a spiritualism room to talk with the dead.

On September 5 of the year 1992, Sarah Winchester at the age of 82 died after spending 38 years building her house for the dead. Until then, he had invested more than 5 million dollars, which currently would be about 70 million. All her belongings were inherited by her niece Marian Merriman Marriott, who in the last years of Sarah's life had become his personal secretary. Marian took everything she wanted and the challenge she sold at a private auction. 6 trucks worked 8 hours a day for 6 weeks to remove all furniture from the house.

The mansion was sold at an auction to a local investor and then rented for 10 years to John and Mayme Brown, who 5 months after Sarah opened the mansion to the public, but far from shooing people ... The mansion became in a tourist attraction called The Winchester Mystery House and they began to tour the mansion; even so it is not recommended to walk alone through the mansion since it is so big and mysterious that the workers and servants who lived there had to direct themselves with a map to be able to walk around the house ... The current owners warn that if they arrive to walk alone and to get lost, it could be that you know nothing about that person again.

This curious story of Sarah and her mansion is so fascinating that on February 2 of this year a film based on this story was released in the United States, called:

Winchester: the house the spirits built.

For many years, visitors to the building have commented that the place is impressive and frightening at the same time. Many also claim to have felt voices of someone who was not or mysterious air currents when there is no window or door open ...

And Your...

Would you dare to take a walk over there?
