So about that Stranger Things soundtrack..

No. Seriously.

One of the best things to come out of that show (aside from it's simple level of RAD) is the introduction to the band

S U R V I V E

We all know that the entire show is full of nostalgia for us who grew up on the seventies and eighties film era and had a slew of references to all of them, including but not limited to:

  • The Goonies
  • E.T.
  • Poltergeist
  • Alien

And these are references I caught onto just in the first couple of episodes. So the music is no exception. Hidden amongst the typical hits of the eighties is the band S U R V I V E. It is mainly two of the members, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, that did the score for the show and have previously worked on some of Adam Wingard's work. In Stranger Things it is definitely reminiscent of John Carpenter's Tangerine Dream. Their discography is incredible and I highly recommend it to anyone who is into that style of music.

I can NOT get enough of this show! How did you feel about it?
